Korea

Han bok
Seoyeon's Mum, 'Jane', came to Room 15 this morning to tell us about Korean clothing and language.

It takes 11 hours to fly to Korea on an aeroplane from Auckland and children in Korea start school when they are 7 years old.
Korea is 5,000 years old.

Hanbok are worn on New Year's day and for special occasions and festivals. They are made from cotton and silk.

We were lucky to try some Korean sweets. We tasted a rice biscuit which tasted a bit like a crunchy donut and then a rice cracker.

Young single women wear their hair in a long plait or ponytail.
Married women wear their hear up in a bun.
We learnt how to sing 'twinkle twinkle little star' in Korean.

Komatsunida Jane!
